About Chongqing Fashion Designers Association
The Chongqing Fashion Designers Association serves as a crucial guiding and coordinating organisation for fashion designers, fashion design, and fashion education talent in the Chongqing area. It has gathered industry experts, young designers, brand principals, fashion buyers, university professors, and outstanding graduates. Under the leadership of the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission, it has continuously launched professional competitions and fashion events in recent years. The association has hosted and coordinated significant events such as the 2021 Bene Southwest Textile Pattern Original Design Contest, the 2021 Western Fashion Designers Elite Contest, the 2022 Dazu Rock Carvings Fashion Design and West Liang Art Exhibition, and more, establishing an archive of excellent professional designers and becoming a reserve resource for Chongqing’s fashion industry design productivity.
About President Mingyu Liang
Professor Mingyu Liang, a renowned Chinese fashion designer and artist, is the founding and current president of the Chongqing Fashion Designers Association and a leading figure in Chongqing’s fashion industry. Her exceptional artistic skills and innovative thinking have propelled the development of the fashion industry in Chongqing and had a profound impact both domestically and internationally. An internationally recognised artist and educator in fashion, Professor Liang has dedicated her career to nurturing a new generation of fashion designers and promoting Chinese traditional culture and modern fashion arts globally. Her work has received international acclaim, including her installation “Masai Mara,” which was exhibited at Tate Modern in London, using art to advocate for environmental and wildlife protection.
About Chongqing
Recently, Chongqing was designated as a “Creative City within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, becoming the fifth city in China and the first in Western China to achieve this status. This recognition is not only an international endorsement of the city’s innovative capabilities in design but also underscores Chongqing’s important role in the global creative cities network.
