Asian Fashion Design Awards 2026 Open for Entries, Offering Global Runway Opportunities in Melbourne

CALL OUT FASHION DESIGN AWARD

The Asian Fashion Design Awards 2026 (AFDA), hosted by the CAF and presented as part of Asian Fashion Festival 2026, is now officially open for submissions. The competition is dedicated to discovering and supporting emerging fashion designers, providing a platform for innovation, sustainability, and cross-cultural creativity.

Taking place in November 2026 in the City of Melbourne, AFDA offers participants the opportunity to gain international exposure and connect with industry leaders, buyers, and media from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Winners of the Asian Fashion Design Awards will receive the opportunity to present their collections in a featured runway show during Asian Fashion Festival 2026, with a presentation value of AUD $15,000. This provides a significant platform for designers to elevate their profiles and engage with a global fashion audience.

In addition to the Melbourne showcase, selected outstanding works may be recommended and submitted to leading design competitions across Asia, including the Taipei International Student Design Competition (TISDC), the Redress Design Award in Hong Kong, and the China Fashion Award – Golden Top Award, offering further opportunities for international recognition and career development.

The Awards are open to students and emerging designers worldwide, with free entry, encouraging accessibility and participation from diverse creative backgrounds. Applicants are invited to submit a minimum of six design concepts, along with a portfolio, sustainability statement, and collection overview.

The competition highlights key areas including creativity, innovation, sustainability, and the integration of new technologies in fashion design. Finalists will gain visibility through Festival platforms and have opportunities to connect with industry professionals and collaborators.
