📢 Important Announcement for AFBC 2025 Volunteers

 

Dear Volunteers,

 

We regret to inform you that AFBC 2025, originally scheduled to take place in person at BCEC Brisbane from 17-19 March 2025, has been cancelled due to severe weather conditions caused by Tropical Cyclone Alfred and the ongoing flooding situation.

 

The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has issued official warnings regarding heavy rainfall, strong winds, and significant disruptions to transport and infrastructure. In consultation with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), the City of Brisbane, and key stakeholders, the Creative Asia Foundation (CAF) has made the difficult decision to cancel the physical event for everyone’s safety.

 

⚠ Important Volunteer Update

 

• If you were planning to travel for the event, please do not depart for Brisbane.

• For any flight or accommodation adjustments, please contact your travel provider directly.

• Your volunteer role at the in-person event will no longer be required.

 

Transition to Virtual Event

 

Although the in-person event has been cancelled, AFBC 2025 will now take place as an exclusive two-day virtual conference (18 & 19 March). We encourage volunteers to still be part of this experience by attending online sessions and engaging with industry leaders, sustainability experts, and business innovators.
